Spirit of Youth officially launches the project "Putem sporta — Regional Promotion of the Values of the Republic of Serbia through Sport and Youth Potential", a public and cultural diplomacy programme to be implemented in 8 cities during 2026.
The project is designed as a European programme that uses sport, youth dialogue and contemporary communication formats to present Serbia through the energy of young people, sporting success and the values of cooperation. Activities will take place in cooperation with partner organisations in each host city.
8 cities, one goal
The programme will be implemented in Ljubljana (Slovenia), Zagreb (Croatia), Banja Luka (Republika Srpska), Budapest (Hungary), Timișoara (Romania), Podgorica (Montenegro) and Skopje (North Macedonia). The closing conference will be held on Zlatibor, in Serbia.
In each city, a public panel, lectures and workshops for young people are planned, focused on the themes of sport, healthy lifestyles, youth activism and social responsibility. Activities are aimed at young people, sports workers, representatives of cultural institutions and media in the host countries.
Sport is a universal language — and that is precisely why it is the right framework for conversations about values, cooperation and the shared future of young people in the region.
Who is behind the project
The project is being delivered by Spirit of Youth in cooperation with partner organisations from Serbia, the region and across Europe. With the support of the Office for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the programme connects young people, professionals and communities in multiple cities through sport and dialogue.
The programme begins in May 2026 with its first regional event in Ljubljana. Activities will run from May 2026 to February 2027, alongside a continuous media and promotional presence.
